We found an interesting topic worth weighing in on.  Should the translation of literature be considered an art form?

Morningside Translations’ Debut at LegalTech 2010

We kicked off this month by attending the LegalTech 2010 Conference at the New York Hilton for the very first time!  With over 13,000 litigation support specialists, attorneys, and paralegals, LegalTech was a great opportunity to get some face time with the legal community at large, including those in need of legal translations from translation companies.

As one of the most important legal technology events of the year, the conference was a huge success in introducing Morningside’s legal translation services, interpreting services, transcription and multimedia services to the legal community at large.  We were able to showcase our top service and quality as a translation company specializing in legal translations and patent translations.  Many attendees who were fortunate enough to swing by Morningside’s booth were surprised to see the piles and piles of candy and free giveaways that were offered.  One lucky winner was even awarded an iPod Touch at the end of the three-day conference.

Morningside is a global leader in the legal and technical translations industry, and as we are expanding our scope of legal translations services and technical translation solutions, we were proud to have attended LegalTech and look forward to making it a permanent installation on our calendar in coming years.  If you missed us this year, come see us next year at LegalTech 2011!

Haitians Need Our Help Now

As the translation service and legal translation community is trying to grapple with the devastation that has occurred as a result of the earthquake in Haiti, many are wondering, how, as a translation company, as a translator, as a legal translation service, what can my company do to help those in Haiti who are suffering?

As Morningside is committed to helping the worldwide community, and as a translation company who also staffs many interpreters and works on live translations and interpretations for its clients, we have become aware of the need for medical interpreters in Haiti.  Currently, there is a need for Haitian interpreters and for Cantonese, Mandarin, French, and Portuguese interpreters, to serve the needs of the relief service providers.  Translating and interpreting for a victim of the earthquake is a critical role we can play to help our global community.

We want to share important information with you as a translation service that specializes in interpretations.  We want to offer up information that is useful for those looking to help the Haitians who have been hurt immensely by the devastating earthquake.

Some useful links for helping those in need include:

Of course, there are many other wonderful organizations that can facilitate monetary donations to the people of Haiti in efforts to rebuild the country and the lives of the Haitian people.
