Here are a few key members of our team:
French Project Manager
Eamon Fogarty is a French project manager and part of Morningside’s team of in-house linguists. Eamon works with a variety of IP-related documents and is responsible for training the French language review team with regards to client specifications, in addition to managing workflows and deadlines. Eamon studied Spanish and Latin before heading to Middlebury College in Vermont to study nonfiction writing, French, and music.
Chief Financial Officer
Alissa has been a member of Morningside’s finance team since 2010. She has been instrumental in the company’s growth by helping to implement a new accounting system and the financial integration of satellite offices and acquisitions. Alissa graduated with a B.A. in Biotechnology and Economics from Claremont McKenna College and is currently pursuing her MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU.
VP of Sales
As VP of Sales, Shai oversees global sales strategy and implementation for both new and existing markets. Shai works closely with account teams and operations to ensure high quality production and continuous improvement for Morningside’s clients. In addition, he manages strategic accounts as well as his personal portfolio of patent and legal clients. Shai is fluent in Hebrew and Spanish and holds a B.A. in Economics and Marketing from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Director of Legal Sales
Since January 2011, Dylan has held various roles within the company that have directly contributed to the company’s record growth in this period. Most recently, Dylan has managed the Project Management team across Morningside’s offices, both domestic and international. Dylan has leveraged his operational and client-facing expertise to focus exclusively on the growth of Morningside’s Legal Translation division. Dylan holds a B.A. from Boston College.
Athena is the Managing Director of Morningside Translations, where she is responsible for driving revenue and innovation through a cross-functional team of sales, marketing, and operations professionals. Athena joined the company in 2005 and has held previous positions in sales, quality assurance, and operations. In her role as Managing Director, Athena has driven Morningside’s growth with the opening of global offices, the launch of new business verticals, and a double-digit increase in year over year sales. Athena received a BSc in Management & Business from Skidmore College and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU.
German Language Lead
As a senior English-German/German-English reviewer and translator, Judith is a key member of the QA Department with a special focus on patents and patent-related litigation. She graduated from the SDI in Munich (Germany) in 2007 and after passing the State Interpreter’s and Translator’s Examination, she was appointed by and sworn to the Courts of Germany. She worked as an in-house translator for a renowned law firm for almost 7 years and has specialized in IP and patents since the early stages of her career.
Senior Project Manager
Rachel joined Morningside’s Operations Department in January 2014 as Project Manager for patent translation & foreign patent filing. Most recently, Rachel’s focus has been on streamlining Morningside’s operational processes across all offices and working closely with operations and sales staff globally to identify customer service solutions. Rachel is proficient in French with limited proficiency in Hausa, Zarma, and Medumba. She holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics and a B.A. in International Relations from Boston University.
Director of Localization
Sam is Morningside’s Director of Localization. In this role, he is responsible for working with clients to develop customized translation, machine translation and localization workflow solutions. Sam joined Morningside in 2008, and his wide range of experience includes project management, vendor sourcing and business development. Sam holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands and completed graduate studies at the University of Edinburgh where he received a M.Sc. in International and European Politics.
Strategic Accounts Director
Berni is the Strategic Accounts Director at AC Translations, a Morningside company. In this role, she works to both strengthen existing client relationships and forge new ones. Berni’s previous experience managing project teams, clients and translators has equipped her with the skills to ensure client satisfaction is her top priority. Berni holds a BA (hons) in French & Italian, Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Lancaster.
Foreign Filing Manager, Patents & IP
Dov has led the Patent Filing Department at Morningside since March 2014. During this period, he has played a key role in implementing and standardizing Morningside’s filing operating procedure and strengthening the reciprocity relations with our foreign agents. With over 8 years of experience as a patent paralegal at leading patent firms, Dov has extensive knowledge in international patent law. Dov holds a B.S. in Biology from Hebrew University and an MBA from the Open University.
Chief Investment Officer
Elizabeth is the Chief Investment Officer at Morningside Translations. Elizabeth joined Morningside in 2005 and has held previous positions in sales, management, and operations. In her role as Chief Investment Officer, Elizabeth has fueled Morningside’s growth through the acquisition of multiple language service providers. Elizabeth received a B.A. in History from Columbia University and a MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU.
Managing Director, ALT Translations
Scott Bass is the founder and current Managing Director of ALT Translations, a Morningside company. With over 25 years of experience in corporate language services, Scott currently handles R&D and key accounts, working with customers to find the best technical and language solutions for their organizations. Scott has a Bachelor of Arts degree in German Language and Chemistry from SUNY Binghamton and has a Master’s degree in German Studies from the University of Rochester.
Senior Vendor Manager
As the Senior Vendor Manager at Morningside Translations, Rebecca is responsible for Morningside’s vendor management team, which oversees expansion and evaluation of linguistic resources across all verticals, from patents & IP to marketing and legal areas. She graduated from the University of Maryland, having studied Communication & Public Relations, with double minors in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.
Amir leverages his 15 years of industry experience to develop new strategies and opportunities in the translation industry. Amir joined Morningside in 2001. In 2006, he launched Morningside’s first international office, which quickly became one of Morningside’s top revenue centers. He personally led the EMEA sales team and guided the development of sales and operations teams in multiple international locations. Currently, Amir is developing a proprietary technology that helps attorneys partner and do business around the globe. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College.
Operations Manager, Patents & IP
Abe joined Morningside’s Patents & Intellectual Property Team in 2014, bringing with him over a decade of experience in the IP industry. Abe has leveraged his advanced knowledge to ensure that Morningside meets the IP industry’s highest quality standards for the thousands of patent applications we translate and file per year. Abe continues to ensure Morningside’s IP division has the most updated knowledge of patent translation and filing requirements in order to best serve our clients. Abe holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Yeshiva University.
Senior Project Manager
As senior project manager, Jamie is responsible for ensuring that Morningside’s operational processes are efficient and effective by incorporating new technologies and strategies and measuring changes in productivity. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Boston University, having studied Linguistics and Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Spanish. She also took Master’s coursework in computational linguistics at CUNY Graduate Center.
Chief Technology Officer
Jeremy is the Chief Technology Officer at Morningside Translations. Since joining the company in 2004, Jeremy has managed teams in both sales and operations, while also overseeing Morningside’s IT investments and infrastructure. Jeremy is responsible for the increased efficiency of Morningside’s technological advancements, as they pertain to all departments within Morningside. Jeremy holds a B.S. in Business Management and Information Systems from the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University.
As a senior in-house French translator and reviewer, Julien ensures that the highest level of quality is met with translations into French. He has worked in IP for more than 15 years, both in Paris and New York, and has extensive knowledge of both the French and American legal systems. Julien is also a technology enthusiast and is well versed with a broad spectrum of new technologies. Julien has a Master of Mathematics degree and a law degree from Strasbourg University.
Senior Manager, Patents & IP
Mark has been working in the field of patents since 2001. He worked as a patent paralegal at law firms in both Boston and Seattle before moving to New York to join Morningside in 2012. His industry knowledge and experience allows him to lead Morningside’s patent team to ensure the highest level of client service is carried through on each project. Mark has a B.A from Boston College.
VP of Operations
As the VP of Operations, Nicole is responsible for shaping the company’s operational strategy and managing Morningside’s global operations team. Prior to assuming the VP role, Nicole most recently acted as the Director of Quality Assurance where her responsibilities included managing linguistic teams and Morningside’s continuous improvement process (CIP). Nicole joined the company in 2009 and has enjoyed contributing first-hand to the growth of the organization. She is fluent in German and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bucknell University.
Head of German Translation
Niko is Head of German Translation at AC Translations, a Morningside company. Niko uses his experience and technical knowledge not only to help the German team to consistently produce first-rate translations, but also to benefit the translation team as a whole. He has over 10 years’ experience as a technical translator, having worked at Xerox and Wolfstone, among others. He studied English and translation at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany) and the University of Swansea (Wales).
Diane Seaman is the Finance Manager for AC Translations, a Morningside company, since 2013. Diane’s role includes overseeing all things non-linguistic including managing accounts, IT, sourcing supplies and HR. Before working in finance, Diane worked on financial systems in the IT sector. Diane has a Pure Mathematics degree from UCC.
Senior Japanese Project Manager
Sam works as a Senior Japanese Project Manager at Morningside, specializing in Japanese patent translation. He has exercised his language skills in both the US and Japan, with a focus on engineering and patent law. In 2016, he was awarded the grand prize in the 2nd JLPP International Translation Competition, a contest administered by the Japanese government’s Agency for Cultural Affairs. He is the first American translator to win the prize. Sam graduated summa cum laude with degrees in English and Japanese from Commonwealth College at UMass – Amherst.
Director of Marketing
As Director of Marketing, Ethan is responsible for Morningside’s overall marketing strategy and implementing global marketing campaigns. In addition to strategic business development efforts, he directs media relations, branding, advertising and website development. Ethan has more than 15 years of experience in journalism, marketing, communications and public relations. Ethan is fluent in Hebrew. He holds a B.A in Journalism from SUNY Purchase.
Head of English Translation
As Head of English Translation for AC Translations, a Morningside company, Tessa translates from French and German into English and manages a dedicated team of seven English translators. Tessa has worked for AC since 2011, after receiving her M.A. in Translation and Professional Language Skills from the University of Bath. Before that, she completed her undergraduate studies in French and German at the University of Exeter.
Director of Technology
Gadi is the Director of Technology at Morningside. In this role, Gadi has implemented industry-leading technology to create custom platforms that enhance the client experience, including Morningside’s proprietary client portal. Additionally, Gadi has taken the lead on creating and implementing efficient quality control and management processes for Morningside’s largest clients. Gadi graduated from Yeshiva University in 2008. He majored in Political Science, with a minor in foreign languages, focusing on Arabic and French.
Managing Director, GMBH
As Director of Morningside’s DACH Region Sales, Adam is one of Morningside’s top revenue generators. With a personal book of over 200 clients from the IP sector, Adam has successfully achieved year-on-year growth both by delivering client-focused service and customized workflow solutions. In 2012, Adam launched Morningside’s first European office in Hamburg, Germany, where he is now Managing Director. Adam achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science/Psychology at RMIT University, Melbourne, and a Diploma in Frontline Management, ANDRAS College.
