Our Commitment to Quality

Quality is at the heart of what we do and our primary focus. Our commitment to quality spans every stage of the project lifecycle, from initial request through on-time delivery. It’s why we’re trusted by leading organizations to translate over 400 million words a year and file over 18,000 patents around the globe.

Our Quality Management System (QMS) is certified to the latest ISO 9001, 13485, and 17100 standards, and is independently audited to ensure compliance. Over the past 20 years, we have worked tirelessly and continuously to improve our processes – from the rigorous vetting and onboarding of translators and subject matter experts to our proprietary Quality Reliability Indicator (QRI) algorithm and post-production audits. Each process includes built-in redundancies and is supported by industry-leading technology to mitigate risk and ensure error-free deliverables.

Why Morningside’s Quality Is Best-in-Class

Our Quality Reliability Indicator

To ensure error-free deliverables, a sound quality process must be proactive, rather than just reactive. That is why we developed QRI – the Quality Reliability Indicator – a proprietary, data-backed quality analytics model that identifies areas of potential risk and prevents quality issues before they happen. QRI’s algorithm analyzes 3 main sources of input: operational data, linguistic data, and audit data. It helps us spot patterns and gives us predictive insights that help forecast future quality levels and trends, allowing for quick course adjustment. QRI is a cutting-edge approach to traditional translation quality management that is unique to Morningside and unmatched in the industry.

Multi-Step Review Process

Our multi-step Quality Assurance process employs a series of reviews with built-in redundancies to ensure accuracy and precision. Our Quality Assurance process begins with our rigorously trained and vetted translators who are native to the target language, possess academic degrees and expertise in the relevant subject matter, and have years of professional translation experience in the related industry. After the initial translation and proofing is completed, the translation is reviewed word-for-word by an independent linguist. If the complexity of the project requires additional levels of quality assurance, we customize the process to include additional workflows or rounds of inspection to ensure quality.

Translator Qualifications

  • 5+ years of translation experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) and relevant advanced degrees
  • Subject Matter Expertise
  • Native fluency in the target language
  • In-country residency requirements if applicable
Our process for vetting linguists includes:
  • Initial screening & reference check
  • Targeted linguistic and subject matter testing
  • Mentoring period that includes comprehensive training & review

Translator Certification & Accreditation

Our quality policy requires rigorous vetting and training for our translators and interpreters.
